Normally Carsyn has a cold almost every other week during the winter, and usually he ends up in the hospital about two times each winter with breathing problems stemming from the cold. This winter I wanted to change that. Here are a few surviving cold season tips that we have been doing this winter.
Surviving Cold Season Tips
Drink plenty of water & eat healthy. You need to make sure you are fueling your body with healthy food not junk. Drinking plenty of water keeps you hydrated and healthy.
Take Elderberry Syrup daily. This is a new one we started doing. It has a lot of great health benefits and you can double your dose when you are sick to help you get over it more quickly.
Enjoy a cup of hot tea with local honey & lemon. When I do have a stuffy nose and sore throat this always helps me to feel better. Plus it warms you up on those cold winter days.
Always make sure to wash your hands after sneezing or blowing your nose to make sure you do not spread germs.
Stock up on Kleenex Anti-Viral Tissue. It is always good to have these on hand before the cold hits. You don’t want to have to run to the store while you aren’t feeling good.
The Kleenex Anti-Viral tissue has three soft layers, including a moisture activated middle layer that kills 99.9% of cold and flu viruses within 15 minutes. Here you can see the blue dot layer with special anti viral formula to kill cold and flu viruses.
A plus for me is they come with BoxTops, the schools that my boys go to collect these.
Another tip on surviving cold season is to shop online for your essentials. Less time in the store means less germs you will come in contact with. I bought the Anti-Viral Kleenex on Walmart.com with Free 2 Day Shipping, they also offer free pickup in select locations.
