Happy Burger Month! This year I am teaming up with Kita from GirlCarnivore for an epic month of burgers plus a giveaway (more on the further down), and sharing one of my new favorite burgers, Philly-Style Cheesesteak Burger.
For the whole month of May, bloggers from all over have been sharing their delicious burger creations.
What is a Philly-Style Cheesesteak Burger?
Well, it combines two of my favorite sandwiches, burger and Philly cheesesteak.
You are going to need:
- ground beef
- garlic salt + pepper
- onions
- green peppers
- mushrooms
- cheese of your choice
- buns
While grilling the burgers we used the Western Post Oak bbq smoking chips. Gave it a subtle but smokey taste.
Then topped our burgers with white cheddar from Cabot. So delicious and creamy. You can also use provolone depending on your preference.
We served ours with a side of asparagus and a sweet potato, but you could serve it with fries and a salad. Just depends on what you enjoy.
Philly-Style Cheesesteak Burger

Philly-Style Cheesesteak Burger
Ultimate combination of philly cheesesteak and burger.
Ingredients
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 green pepper cut into thin strips
- 5 mushrooms diced
- 4 slices provolone or white cheddar
- 4 brioche hamburger rolls
- 1 tbsp butter
- salt
- pepper
Instructions

Mix ground beef with the garlic salt and pepper until well blended. Shape into 4 patties.

Sauté the onions, bell peppers and mushrooms in butter with salt and pepper until cooked to your preferred tenderness. We like ours nice and tender.

Grill burgers over medium heat 5 minutes per side or until burgers are cooked thoroughly.

Add the cheese and grill for another minute or until cheese is melted.

Serve brugers on rolls, topped with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. If you want you can add a little bit of mayonaisse to your bun.
