School started back last week after two weeks off for the boys. It was a doozy trying to prepare dinner every night. We had to get back in the groove of homework, reading, etc. Dinner was the last thing on my mind, but I knew I needed to provide something hot. With the recent cold-front moving through, I thought back to when I was younger and my mom fixed pot pies to warm us up. I then decided to keep the tradition going and warm up my family the same way.
I thought my easy Peach Cobbler would go perfectly with Marie Callender’s Pot Pies. I was right! Just ask Kenny. It was a complete meal and took hardly any time to prepare.
Every Marie Callender’s pot pie shares and delivers the true sense of homemade without having to spend hours in the kitchen. Cooking this meal allowed me to have more time with my family and less time in the kitchen. I feel like our lives are so busy these days, any chance to spend with the family is welcomed.
I picked up my family sized Marie Callender’s pot pie in the freezer section of our Walmart.
Visit Marie Callender’s online for more information about their pot pies, plus they shared more delicious recipes. Marie Callender’s can also be found on Facebook. The other thing I love about Marie Callender’s that they have a wonderful program called Comforts From Home to help support our troops.
Keep reading for my super easy peach cobbler recipe, that pairs perfectly with a pot pie.
By Sarah Halstead
Ingredients
- 2 cans large peaches
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick of butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Drain your peaches into a bowl, if needed.
- Sprinkle your dry yellow cake mix over top of your peaches.
- Melt one stick of butter and drizzle over top.
- Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until top is brown.
Notes
Check your cobbler about half way through. If the topping is still dry add the reserved peach juice on top.
This is the easiest dessert to make, and everyone loves it.
What is your go to comfort meal?
