Andrew turned four just last month, but so far it seems to be a magical age. Full of adventure and imagination, laughs and silliness.
His new favorite activity is arts and crafts – coloring and drawing pictures, cutting shapes and making paper airplanes. He asks for his colors and paper first thing in the morning and last thing before bedtime.
He wants me to write out the stories he tells and is always asking me how to spell words. He wants to help read his Dr. Seuss books and sound out the funny rhymes: fox, box, over, rover.
This transformation happened overnight it seems. Don’t get me wrong. He still wants to run and jump and makes way too much noise. But his quiet calm times are outpacing the wild times.
And the tantrums and uncooperative attitude are getting better too. He’s easier to reason with and transitions aren’t nearly as tricky as they used to be.
We’re having so much fun. And I’m excited to see what this four year old is going to do next.
