This year I didn’t set strict resolutions, but I did make a goal to establish a few good healthy habits that have been missing from my life. Being a mom to 4 kids it makes it difficult to take time for self-care. I am hoping 2019 will be my year to take care of myself so I can take care of my kids better.
Six Healthy Habits To #feelunstoppabowl
Get plenty of sleep.
I know this isn’t always easy, but try to stick to a regular bed time each night. Also, charge your phone away from your bed so you aren’t tempted to check it in the middle of the night.
Take a few minutes to yourself.
Before beginning your routine take a few minutes to write in a journal, pray, or meditate. This will set the mood for the rest of your day.
Eat a healthy and filling breakfast.
Don’t be like me and skip breakfast. This is one thing I am trying to be better about this year. I know I feel better when I have eaten breakfast, plus I am not starving by the time lunch comes around. Something that makes that easier for me is enjoying a Healthy Choice Morning Power Bowl. They are super flavorful and so easy to heat and eat. Each ingredient in their power bowls matter. The morning power bowls deliver 10-15 grams of protein and 3-5 grams of fiber.
The first power bowl I tried was Roasted Red Pepper & Egg White Shakshuka, it included egg whites with red bell peppers, onions, chard, kale & spinach served on top of steel cut oats, farro, buckwheat and red quinoa with a spicy tomato & red pepper sauce topped with feta cheese.
Drink plenty of water.
It is so important to drink at the very least 8 cups of water a day. This will help keep you hydrated and feeling great.
Prepare the night before.
I am a stay at home mom, but I am on the run a lot, taking kids here, there and everywhere. If I know I am going to be on the go the next day I like to pack a lunch box the night before. I will prepare a water bottle and snacks, then the next morning I just stick a Healthy Choice Power Bowl to take with me.
They also make vegetarian and vegan power bowls that are perfect to eat for lunch. The veggie bowls deliver 10-16 grams of protein and 7-16 grams of fiber. I had the Falafel & Tahini power bowl for lunch and was really satisfied and full. It had falafel with red onions, tomatoes, chard, kale and spinach served on top of brown & red rice, red quinoa and black barley with a sesame tahini sauce. Yum, yum!

What I love about Healthy Choice Power Bowls:
Delicious and easy to take on the go.
Nutrient-dense meals with leafy vegetables, grains, and protein.
The bowls themselves are made from plant-based fiber that is recyclable.
