Dear Carsyn,
Today isn’t turning out the way I thought it was going to go. Yesterday you started off with a little cough and this morning you woke up with very labored breathing and had thrown up in the middle of the night. I did three breathing treatments with you and your breathing wasn’t getting better. So, we headed off to the doctor. After two more breathing treatments he decided you had a virus that was flaring up your asthma. We were sent away with steroids and special instructions for more breathing treatments.
I had a donut cake planned for this morning, but that got sidetracked. I was going to take you out for lunch just the two of us, but that didn’t happen either. Instead we hung around the house snuggling and praying you would feel better. It may not have been the birthday I had planned for you, but I enjoyed the time just hanging out with you. I am thankful your party isn’t until Thursday because I hope you are feeling better by then.
I am so excited for your birthday party at Chick-fil-A on Thursday. They are planning the games, food, cake, and everything else. It is hard to let go of control, but I am thankful I am not planning it this time. Things have been rather busy around here lately. You love the cow and he will be there for your party. I can not wait to see your smile.
Even though you were sick today you still managed smiles. You enjoyed us singing happy birthday to you and you haven’t let this sickness get you down. You are amazing and my hero. I love you so much and can not believe we have already had 5 years with you. I pray we celebrate many more birthdays with you.
You love to swing, you love playing with your iPad, and you love music. You enjoy watching Super Why!, Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Curious George 2, and Bubble Guppies. You love your big brother so much. He can always make you smile.
Love,
Mom
