Casey Scarborough, the artist behind Wild Muse Fine Art and Jewelry, wrote this post for 30 fun ideas for fall.
I am so excited for fall to officially be here and all of these projects and recipes we’ve been making recently have only heightened my enthusiasm. I adore the equinoxes and solstices. To me, there is something mysterious and ancient and celebratory in the air on these days and autumn being my favorite season, the Fall equinox appeals to me most. Today is the day that the sun crosses the celestial equator and I want to commemorate it!
As much as I love all of these ancient and celestial markings for the passing of time and adore flights of fancy, I am also a mom who is constantly–or so it seems– chasing toddlers around and helping elementary schoolers finish their homework and cooking dinner and doing laundry and playing chauffeur and everything else under this sun that there is for a mom and wife to do. **okay, deep breath**
Anyway, thanks to all of that, I tend to lose track of these special dates on a regular basis (I felt a little better when I realized that I was only a day off for when I thought it was) so when I realized the ACTUAL First Day of Fall –yes, it’s that important. It gets title status, cause it’s special, cause I say so 😉 — also known as the Fall Equinox was coming up this week, I decided to do something extra special, just for you! I brainstormed (with a little help from my friends and probably google) all of the things I enjoy about the season and turned it into a typographic design with swirling leaves and caramel colors as the backdrop. I hope you enjoy it! I’ve been loving it on my phone for the past couple of days. If this type of design appeals to you, hop on over to my Facebook page, Wild Muse for a free download of the desktop version. While you’re there, drop a comment to let me know what you think of the design and if you feel like it, check out some of the other stuff I like to play with!
This download will not be available anywhere else, so you can feel awesome, knowing you’re one of probably five people who downloaded it. Just kidding on the only five people bit.
I hope…
Anyway, enough hype! Here’s a preview of the design. Most phones will crop the words just a bit but I gave it a little extra space on the sides, just in case you have a different screen ratio than I do. This image is 700 x 991 pixels. If that works for you, feel free to grab it from here (just right click and select “open image in new tab” from the menu. In the new tab, right click again and select “save image.” If you are on a touch screen, substitute “click and hold” for right click). For the full resolution download, click here.

I really hope you enjoy my design. I had a lot of fun brainstorming and making it for you.
Happy Fall Equinox!!
