This past weekend we went on a family road trip to Alabama. We went to visit some wonderful friends that we miss terribly since they moved last year. The last time we saw them was when they came for a visit when Prestyn was born. It was a short trip, but so much fun. They took us to their local favorite restaurants and splash park. To say my boys loved the water is an understatement. They had a blast at the splash park and they did not want to leave. I brought along our favorite Juicy Juice drinks to make sure the kids stayed hydrated while out in the Alabama heat. This was my first time going to Alabama, and I do not think I was prepared for just how hot it was going to be.
The trip is about 10 hours each way but took us about 12. I made sure to pack pretzels, peanuts, goldfish, and plenty of Juicy Juice for the car ride. Having snacks and drinks in the car made for a lot fewer stops overall. I was so sad to leave them on Sunday and I wish we could have stayed longer. I think next time we may visit for a longer trip in the fall. They are close to the mountains and they said it is really gorgeous around there.
